The Wedding

Today was the day. I married Mabon in front of her family, our friends, and guild members. It was a lovely ceremony. We had the ceremony in the moonwell gazebo in Moonglade. We stood in the center of the gazebo and were surrounded by everyone. It was at this very spot Mabon agreed to marry me. I couldn’t have picked a better spot to profess my love for her.

The ceremony went very well. Her father, Stenholm Lightpath, started out by blessing our marriage. Our friend Chera agreed to run the ceremony along with Stenholm. It was short and sweet. There is nothing worse than a long wedding. We were both relieved that it went so well. The only thing that went wrong was that Mabon forgot her shoes. She’s bad about forgetting things.

After we were officially married, we thanked everyone for coming and invited them back to Lakeshire for the reception. Mabon’s “uncle” Sven was providing drinks for everyone and her friend Orgim was providing the food. The reception was full of dancing, drinking, and the occasional drunken dwarf challenging people to duels. After all the ale had run out people started leaving. We hung around for a bit and talked to a few people then decided to head out for the honeymoon.

I made plans with a dwarf farmer to have his place for the night. It was only suppose to be Mabon and me there. However, when we arrived the farmer and his brother were there. I talked to the farmer and said that they wanted to make sure that no one stole any of their crops or worse yet their rams. There wasn’t much I could do about it since it wasn’t my place, so we went inside to change and get a bit to eat.

When we went inside the farmer’s brother was asleep on the bed. At the time I laughed but when it got later in the evening I was more upset than anything. Mabon and I exchanged gifts. She bought me a blue beaded necklace. This was no ordinary necklace either. It was magically enchanted. In fact the necklace I was wearing was inferior to it. I gladly accepted the gift and Mabon put it around my neck for me. I had given her some bubbling water before the wedding as kind of a pre-wedding gift. She has been craving some for so long I decided to go and hunt it down for her. I did have one more gift for her. I went outside and brought back a small cage with cloth covering it. I told her I found this in Outlands and thought she would like it. She removed the cloth to reveal a small blue whelp. She was stunned at first and quickly became excited. She opened the cage and played with her new netherwhelp.

After all the excitement I decided to walk out to the boat dock and watch the sunset. We stood there and watched the water as the sun went down. We made a bit of small talk then grew incredibly uneasy. I smiled and took her into my arms. The sun set and all was well.
